#ManCrushMonday:  Matt Barr

094f5c8b7378bac652e4786260b5fbb2

It’s that time of week again:  #ManCrushMonday or #MCM for short.  This is the time of the week where I will choose one guy that I’ve gushed at over the years at one time or another and go a little more in depth than just his stunning good looks.  How is this different from my Guilty Pleasure posts? Well, it’s really not. The only difference is I can choose to do a Guilty Pleasure post any day of the week (depending on my level of thirst), but I can only do one #MCM post a week since Monday only comes once a week.

This week my #MCM is:  Matt Barr. I first had the pleasure of viewing Matt on the short-lived CBS series Harper’s Island. He played Christopher Sullivan, the best man who was later betrayed (I don’t want to give away too many details just in case someone reading wants to catch it sometime later).

I don’t know what drew me to him:  His piercing blue eyes, his blonde hair, his muscular physique or his perfect white teeth with a killer smile.  What can I say I’ve always had a thing for blond-haired, blue eyed boys.

Born on Valentine’s Day 1984 in Allen, Texas, Barr’s family later moved to Fairview, Texas where he was active in the plays and musical theater program at his Alma Mater, Allen High School. During his senior year, he learned of an audition for a part in the film Friday Night Lights. Although he didn’t end up landing the part due to behind-the-scene drama, he made such an impression that he was later offered the lead role in the film Levelland.

A year and a half later, he moved to LA where he landed a role on the medical drama ER.  Since then, Barr has continued to land roles roles in film and television year after year including such film roles as on American Pie:  Band Camp, Ten Inch Hero, The House Bunny and Pedro as well as television roles such as on Gossip Girl, Hellcats, Sleepy Hollow and The Hatfields and McCoys.

You can catch him in some of his new projects this year such as the TV movie, The Interestings as well as Undrafted which has him starring alongside Supergirl star, Tyler Hoechlin. There’s more to Barr than just his boy next door looks (although that part doesn’t hurt).

He’s got kind of a flat ass, but he can’t be perfect. Besides what he lacks in the back, he more than makes up for in the front (and, no, I don’t mean there). I’m talking in terms of his face and body. Get your mind out the gutter!

So Damn Thirsty

The thirst is real! No, I’m not talking about the dehydrating-type of thirst (although at times it can feel like that). I’m talking about the type of thirst that stops you in your tracks to do a double take. The type of thirst that temporarily takes away your ability to say or think coherently. The type of thirst that makes it so that the only thing you can think about in that moment is your thirst. The type of thirst that can come at you without warning.

Why Thirsty Thursday? I’m not completely sure. I’m not sure about the rest of you, but the thirst can come at me any day of the week. It just happens to be Thursday.

Here are some of the men who are making me so damn thirst today:

1.) Ryan Kwanten – – One of my OG crushes. God, I miss seeing him on True Blood every week.

2.) Bryan Hawn – – There’s nothing that makes me thirstier than a guy with a bubble butt, and who isn’t afraid to flaunt it.

3.) JR Bourne – – I’ve always had a thing for older men. He’s eyes are so piercing.

4.) Matt Lanter – – He’s expression matches mine at the moment. Just look at that body!

5.) Cole Monahan – – Now, I need a cold shower

Blog Update

I can’t believe it’s been almost three years since I’ve posted anything on this site. So much has happened since my last post. Clearly, I’m failing as a blogger. Well, there’s always a time to improve. Thank you for the follows, likes and views during my hiatus. I do appreciate it greatly. I will definitely try to put more effort to posting more regularly.

I haven’t posted up here in quite a while, but I have been posting on my Tumblr blog of the same name:  Gay College Daily. Feel free to check that out. I have been posting pretty regularly on that blog as well as some of my other blogs which can be reached from the Gay College Daily homepage. In case you’re wondering, they include:  Baby Got Back (NSFW), Celebrity ProfilesGay After Hours (NSFW) and Gorgeous Men Daily. There’s another blog I’m working on, but I haven’t yet gotten it off the ground. Once it’s up and running to my standards, I’ll share the link with you both up here and on tumblr.

You can also check out my Pinterest and Instagram accounts. Thank you for the ones who have stuck with me, and you can expect more posts up here as well on Tumblr. Thank you!

#BringBackDanny #MoreDanny

Danny Mahealani

Keahu Kahuanui as Danny Mahealani

Forgive me ahead of time if this sounds too much like a rant.  I have a lot to say about this matter.

On July 12th, while attending a U. K. based convention for Teen Wolf, Holland Roden (Lydia Martin) revealed that Keahu Kahuanui (Danny Mahealani) would not be a part of the show’s current season and quite possibly, any future season.  According to Roden, Jeff Davis, the creator of Teen Wolf, didn’t think Danny had any purpose in Beacon Hills.  Kahuanui himself responded on Twitter revealing only:  “So many questions.  So few I can answer.”

According to Stiles (Dylan O’Brien), everybody liked Danny.  Danny was Jackson’s (Colton Haynes) best friend.  He was a fellow lacrosse player.  He was Beacon Hill’s token gay character.  Unlike most dramas that deal with the coming out process, the focus was never on coming out.  He was out from the very beginning.  Everyone knew he was into dudes and no one gave a damn.  He seemed to be friends with everyone.

Danny was never a main character.  He was never an essential character, but overtime he was given more depth.  He brought his boyfriend to the formal in season 1.  He suffered a break up and rebound in season 2.  In season 3, he dated one of the Alpha twins, Ethan (Charlie Carver).  At the end of the season, viewers found out that Danny knew all along that Ethan was a werewolf.  “Dude, it’s Beacon Hills.” He knew all about the supernatural world that so many Beacon Hills was a part of.

With that simple line, one would have thought that Danny’s role would have been furthered on the show, if only to explain how he knew of the supernatural goings of Beacon Hills.  However, Danny will not appear in season 4.  In fact, it’s quite possible that we will never see Danny again.  It appears he has been completely written out of the Teen Wolf script. He’s not dead or alive.  He just never existed.

In response, I’ve penned a letter to Jeff Davis.

You’re the creator, writer and executive producer of “Teen Wolf.”  You’re the creative force behind “Teen Wolf.”  If you didn’t think Danny had a purpose in Beacon Hills, then you could have given him a purpose.  You could have “written” a purpose for him.  Heck, he could have been the Benefactor.  If he had no purpose, then why did you give him the line “Dude, it’s Beacon Hills” in the first place.  It made me think he was going to be more heavily involved in the upcoming seasons, not completely taken out.  You could have at least explained how he knew about all the supernatural goings in Beacon Hills.

You’ve known ever since Peter slashed Kate’s throat that you were going to bring her back.  You didn’t know what season it was going to be, but you knew you were going to bring her back.  That tells me that you at least know how a season is going to play out one season before.  In Kate’s case, three seasons before.  If you thought Danny had no purpose, then why didn’t you kill him off or send him away in season 3.  Instead, you have chosen to completely write him out as if he never existed.  That is a complete disrespect to the character and to the actor himself.

Maybe something happened behind the scenes that we don’t know about with the actor.  After all, he will be the sixth actor the leave the show since season 1.  It’s not out of the ordinary for actors to want to venture to new projects, but your retention rate for your show is pretty low and pretty strange.  Jackson (Colton Haynes) went to London.  Allison (Crystal Reed) and Aidan (Max Carver) were killed off (surprisingly).  Issac (Daniel Sharman) went to France.  Ethan (Charlie Carver) left Beacon Hills.  Who knows where?

At this point, it’s not even completely about Danny.  It seems to me that you have trouble tying up loose ends.  The loose ends being the fates of the characters that you created.   Peter is still alive, even though he was and probably still is a bad guy  Gerald is still alive somewhere.  Jackson is still alive, even though he will probably never return.  Jennifer would still be alive if Peter didn’t kill her.   Deucalion is still alive somewhere.  Ethan is still alive somewhere.  Aidan is dead, but only because the actor was leaving the show and it made since for his character to be killed.  The same goes for Allison.  Isaac is still alive, even though he probably won’t be returning.  You see a pattern?  You have trouble giving your characters any definitive ending.  You can’t determine their fates.

If you didn’t think Danny had a purpose, then why didn’t you either (1) kill him off, (2) send him away Beacon Hills (like Jackson and Isaac), or (3) have Ethan and Danny leave town together?  At least, Danny would of had some kind of ending.  Instead, you wrote him out as if he never existed.  And now we have a new gay guy, who seems pretty cool, but how do we know that you won’t write him completely out as well?

Danny been there since season 1, but now I guest he never existed.  What a way to end a character.  I hope you’re happy with yourself. You’re a great writer.  You just don’t how to end things well.  But then again, not everyone is perfect.  You may not lose major viewership over this, but if you keep doing this, you may.

Sincerely,

A peeved off fan

Guilty Pleasure: Matthew Lewis

Matthew Lewis (3)

Is it just me or did Matthew Lewis a. k. a Neville Longbottom become the hottest guy in the Harry Potter franchise?  I never paid much attention to Neville, but now I’m starting to notice.  You can have Daniel Radcliffe.  Or Rupert Grint.  Not Tom Felton, though.  I’ll take him, too.   But for right now, it’s all about Matthew David Lewis.

Matthew Lewis (10)

Born on June 27, 1968 in Horsforth, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, Lewis has been acting since the tender age of 5.  He made his debut in the TV drama Some Kind of Life (1995).  He continued to make appearances in television on such shows as Dalziel and Pascoe (1996), City Central (1998) and Heartbeat (1990).

At age 11, he was cast as Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001), and the rest is history.  For the following ten years, he was seen as the round-face, goofy-but-smart, nerdy, short, plump, Gryffindor known as Neville Longbottom.  Who would have thought he would have turned out to be the hottest guy from the franchise?

Since the end of the Harry Potter era, Lewis has continued acting.  He has appeared in such shows as The Syndicate (2012) and Bluestone 42 (2013-2014).  He appeared in films including The Rise (2012) and The Sweet Shop (2013).  He is set to star in The Brontes (2016).

In addition to on-screen work, Lewis played Lester Cole in his stage debut in Agatha’s Christie’s Verdict (2011).  In 2012, he was confirmed to play in the West End stage new production of Our Boys.  Also, in 2012, he appeared in a music video called Filth by A Band of Buriers.

“The fame stuff, the kind words from websites and things, are very flattering and lovely, but I just wanna act.”
