Guilty Pleasure: Derek Theler

Most people will agree that “Captain America” was an amazing movie. It was filled with butt-kicking action, hair-raising thrills and above all else: Chris Evans in a tight-clad uniform.

I loved Evans as Captain America, and I couldn’t imagine anyone else as Captain America (mostly because I’ve already seen him as Captain America and I haven’t seen anyone else as Captain America).

However, I wouldn’t of minded seeing Derek Theler as Captain America. He auditioned for the part, but he Evans beat him out for the role.

Theler is now best known for his role as Danny Wheeler on the ABC Family show “Baby Daddy,” who is the older brother and roommate of younger brother Ben Wheeler, portrayed by Jean-Luc Bilodeau.

Theler first appeared in the MTV reality drama, “The Hills” in 2007. Then, in 2009, he landed his first acting job in the short, “G Love.” He continued to make uncredited guest starring roles in television and movies, including “Cougar Town,” “The Middle,” “Valentine’s Day,” and “Get Him to the Greek.”

He also wrote, produced, and acted in the short, “Intrusion,” where he played the roommate of a seemingly-normal guy who teeters on the edge of being more than a friend with one of his co-workers.

Theler got his first recurring on his current role as Danny Wheeler on “Baby Daddy.”

Between acting gigs, appeared in several commercials, including the Coke Zero Commercial, where he played a sensitive hot guy with a dark side.

In addition to commercials, he modeled, of which you can see in the pictures below. Enjoy!

If you want to see more of Theler, you can watch re-runs of “Baby Daddy” on the ABC Family website, you can wait until the spring 2013 for the second season premiere of “Baby Daddy,” or, you can do what I do, and you can simply google him not stop.

Just don’t obsess too much over him (though I wouldn’t blame you)
